was born in Rome. She took her diploma in choir and orchestra conducting at the Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria and studied philosophy in Rome.
Her cooperation with Karl üsterreicher, Leonard Bernstein, Ferdinand Leitner, Valery Gergiev at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, and with Norbert Balash at Santa Cecilia, Rome has had a profound formative influence on her development as a conductress.
From 1994 to 1997 she worked as an assistant in Tokyo, Berlin, Verona, Athens, Bologna, Florence, Parma, Piacenza, Pisa, Naples and Genova, among others with the Orchestra dell'Arena di Verona and I Solisti Fiorentini in performances of the operas La Traviata, Il Rigoletto, Don Giovanni, Capriccio, Norma, La Clemenza di Tito, Falstaff, Lohengrin, Adriane auf Naxos and Rosenkavalier.
